On September 19, 2017, the Ambassador of Peru paid a visit to the deputy Florinel Stancu, President of the Romania – Peru Friendship Parliamentary Group, who was accompanied by various members of the said parliamentary group.
During this visit, the senator Stancu highlighted the importance of encouraging the relations and cooperation between friendship parliamentary groups, welcoming the recent set-up of the Peru – Romania Friendship Parliamentary Group in the Peruvian Congress. He added that, in spite of the distance, the Romanian and Peruvian people were Latin, which represented an excellent basis for working together. By the same token, he pointed out that both parliamentary groups could also help to promote the development of trade and investments, emphasizing that Romania had 72 very attractive industrial parks which.
The Ambassador of Peru recalled the recent appointment as President of the Council of Ministers of the Second Vice-President of the Republic, Mrs. Mercedes Aráoz, a member of the Peru-Romania Friendship Parliamentary Goup, to whom deputy Stancu wished the best successes in her new position. He also mentioned the excellent level of our bilateral relations, the recent visit of the Viceminister of Foreign Affairs to Bucharest for the IV Political Consultation Mechanism, the activities carried out to promote trade and investments, the Peruvian culture and the better connection between the university centers of both countries, highlighting the role that parliamentary diplomacy could play in strengthening and enriching these relations.
Deputy Stancu expressed his intention to invite the Peru-Romania Friendship Parliamentary Group to visit his country.
