On October 16th was achieved the “Seminar on Pacific Alliance and Business Opportunities”, organized by the Union of Romania Bilateral Chambers of Commerce and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE). This event was attended by representatives of business community, leaders of bilateral chambers of commerce in Romania and Romanian Chancellery officials.
The Ambassador of Peru in Romania, José Antonia Arróspidedel Busto, to the extent that our country exerts Pro Tempore Presidency, made an institutional presentation of Pacific Alliance. Subsequently, representatives of Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile have made presentations on trade and investment opportunities in their countries.
Ambassador Gabriel Gafiţa, MFA Director, Latin America and Caribbean Directorate, announced that Romania intends to initiate proceedings leading to observer status in the Pacific Alliance. He added that this decision should not reflect only a political activity, but also a practical decision based on the interest of Romanian business community to develop greater economic links with the countries of the Pacific Alliance.
