Within the framework of the Second Edition of “Pelicula” Latin American Film Festival, which took place on September 15, 2017, with the support of the Embassy of Peru in Romania, two Peruvian films were screened: the musical “Locos de Amor”, directed by Frank Pérez Garland, and the comedy “Viejos Amigos”, directed by Fernando Villarán, which received the largest number of votes from the audience. Both films, with subtitles in Romanian and English, were presented at the premises of the renowned “Elvira Popescu” French Cultural Institute of this capital, with all seats taken. The public was composed of Romanians and Peruvians and members of the Diplomatic Corps.
At the end of the screenings, a tasting of Peruvian food and pisco sour was offered on the terrace of the aforementioned cultural center, set with Peruvian motifs and music.
This second edition of the said festival included more than 20 Latin American film productions from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Cuba, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela. The productions mentioned above were presented at the “Elvira Popescu” French Institute, at the Cervantes Institute and at the cinema of the Peasant’s Museum. The Romanian filmmaker and Freealize producer Ileana Cecanu was in charge of the said event.
