On December 11, 2017, the international seminar ”To see, to name, to eliminate the violence against women”, as part of the activities for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, celebrated every year on November 25, took place.
During her presentation, the Ambassador of Peru highlighted the national regulations which defend women against cases of violence, as well as the active role that Peru has in that regard in the international forums.
Likewise, the campaign named “NiUnaMenos” was emphasized, which has had an important impact on the Peruvian society, and the recording of the candidates to Miss Peru 2017, who gained international notoriety by presenting at the said event the Peruvian statistics regarding this subject, was screened.
The event, organized by the Embassy of France to Romania, was carried out at the University of Bucharest, with the participation of students, officials and representatives of the civil society, among others. The secretary of state, director of the Agency for Equal Opportunities between Men and Women from Romania, Gratiela Draghici; the Secretary General of the Interministerial Mission for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the Human Trafficking in France, Elisabeth Moiron-Braud; as well as the Ambassadors of Peru, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Algeria and Lebanon took partd in the event as speakers.
