On January 9, 2018, at the ceremony of taking the oath organized at the Government Palace by the President of the Republic, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski Godard, Mrs. Lucía Cayetana Aljovín Gazzani became the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru.
Mrs. Aljovín is a lawyer, graduade of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, with more than 23 years of experience in the public and private field, with a Master’s degree in Business Administration at the Adolfo Ibañez University of Chile.
Mrs. Aljovín was also Minister of Energy and Mines and Minister of Development and Social Inclusion in the actual Government. She was Executive Director of Proinversión, Vice Minister of Communication and Secretary General with the Ministry of Economy and Finances and member of the Board of Directors of the National Confederation of Private National Institutions (Confiep) and Director of the Stock Exchange in Lima.
The new Minister of Foreign Affairs was a teacher at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, Superior National University of San Marcos and Peruvian University of Applied Sciences.
