“International Migrants Day” is a special occasion to convey to you, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in his own name, a cordial and affectionate greeting for the valuable contribution you make to Peru image through dissemination of our cultural values where you carry out your activities.
“International Migrants Day” was established by the United Nations General Assembly through Resolution 55/93 of 2000, to recognize and realize the importance and contribution of migrants to the development of the countries in which they live and of their countries of origin; and as a way to remember the State the need to protect genuinely and completely human rights of all migrant persons, ensuring respect for individual freedoms.
On this occasion I wish to convey to you that even in the Chancellery we started working to strengthen links between different sectors of government, between groups associated with migration, and throughout Peruvian society, creating a rapprochement between these groups in order to designate the State as a main character who protects the rights of migrants; to capitalize the benefits of the migration process; and provide conditions to ensure that this process is carried out in an organized and safe manner.
Reiterating you my affectionate greetings, I assure you that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is committed to developing policies that will enable facing conditions of vulnerability affecting Peruvian migrants abroad and to offer a service each time more efficient and modern by the Peruvian Network of Consular Offices.
