MESSAGE FROM THE MINISTER OF EXTERNAL RELATIONS, AMBASSADOR GONZALO GUTIÉRREZ REINEL,ON THE OCCASION OF DAY OF PERUVIANS RESIDING ABROAD

Dear compatriots,

 

In order to celebrate this “Day of Peruvian Residents Abroad”, I want to convey to you, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in my own name, a cordial and affectionate greeting and deep gratitude for the significant support that you provide tosocieties you live in and to our country, in addition to the important work of spreading the cultural heritage and promote the image of Peru.

In order to highlight the significant support that you give to our country, the Chancellery established in 2006 the awarding of a distinction to Peruvians who were found through social activities directed towards strengthening and uniting Peruvian community abroad. The selection process this year was enjoyed by candidates from Peruvian associations, Advisory councils and consular offices. I want to convey the warmest greetings on this occasion to the outstanding countrymen.

I also wish to inform you that, under the Plan for Modernization of ConsularAdministration, we develop important projects such as the commissioning of the Integrated Administration Consular System, which will allow the automation of  consular administration,interconnection of consular offices abroad and in Peru and replacement of the traditional consular stamps; Consular Unique Web Site which will become the main means of access for Peruvians abroad from any technological device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, among others) to information about consular services; and information about the opening of new consular offices for Peruvian community in Madrid, Barcelona and Buenos Aires, among others.

On the other hand, I am pleased to inform you also that pursuant to Law no. 30001, Law of economic and social reintegration of returned migrants, so far, there have been issued more than 2,300 Cards of Returned Migrants, which allowed the aforementioned compatriots to benefit from tributary or non-tributary exemptions, by this action managing to obtain a better social and economic reintegration in their country.

Renewing the promise to continue to make the greatest efforts for continuous improvement of services that our consular offices offer abroad through standardization and improved administration, I express the best wishes for continuous prosperity for you and all your family members.
